2010: ACKUE FATEZZI FAUX WOOD GARAGE DOORS VOTED TOP 'GREEN' FAUX WOOD GARAGE DOOR & TOP 5 MOST INNOVATIVE PRODUCT

Ackue was voted the #1 'GREEN' garage door and is ranked top five Most Innovative Product by industry experts and peers in the Professional Door Dealer magazine "2010 Best of Business Poll." Fatezzi's faux wood garage doors are innovative because of the new technology it developed as an alternative to real wood doors. Once installed, Ackeue-Fatezzi faux wood garage doors look just like real wood doors. However, Fatezzi doors do not carry the negative drawbacks inherent of natural wood doors. The Fatezzi Advantage:
–Polymer composite faux wood with realistic high definition wood grain. Looks and feels just like the most expensive real wood garage doors without the drawbacks of natural wood.
– Proven technology backed by over 50 years of chemical industry work experience in a Fortune 100 chemical company.
–Minimal maintenance. UV resistant, impervious to moisture. No cracking, splitting, warping, and rotting. All weather cladding–withstand high humidity, desert heat and freezing weather conditions.
–Lightweight & strong cladding. Cladding density comparable to cedar, cypress and pine wood. Adds less than 50 lbs to a standard 8'x 7' insulated metal garage door. Cladding installed without mechanical fasteners. Eliminates metal corrosion or water damage.
–Green building product. Fatezzi faux wood durability reduces environmental impact by minimizing use of natural wood resources and door replacements over the life of the door versus real wood doors. Cladding insulation properties reduces energy consumption. [read full magazine article here]

2009: CLOPAY PARTNERS WITH ACKUE TO LAUNCH DOOR LINE
New Faux Option Replicates the Beauty of Wood Garage Doors Without the Maintenance

OHIO - APRIL 2009 - Clopay Building Products has entered into an agreement with Ackue, a manufacturer of faux wood and stone materials for the residential building market, to utilize its technology and materials to manufacture and market a new garage door line, The Canyon Ridge Collection. The Canyon Ridge Collection combines the beauty of a natural wood appearance with the latest innovations in polymer composite engineering. The result is a new high definition grain faux wood cladding that duplicates with uncanny realism every aspect of a species' charm and character. "This door delivers the best of both worlds: the realism and design flexibility of wood with the low maintenance and energy efficient benefits of insulated steel," says Pat Lohse, Clopay's vice president of residential marketing. "And unlike real wood, it's UV resistant and impervious to moisture, so it won't rot, split, shrink, separate, or crack, thereby minimizing the use of materials, energy and resources necessary to maintain or replace door components." The ½"-thick material is molded from actual wood to replicate its natural texture and intricate grain patterns as well as its imperfections, like deep, irregular pockmarks, knots, cracks, and holes up to ¼" deep. It is attached to an insulated three-layer steel base door for added energy efficiency and strength. According to the company, once installed, the material is virtually indistinguishable from real wood, but it doesn't have the drawbacks inherent in natural material. "It's lightweight, very durable and very easy to maintain," says Ackue International managing partner George Acha. "The cladding itself is UV resistant so it can withstand high humidity, desert heat and freezing weather, making it an ideal solution for any climate. It is also insulated to help reduce energy consumption." Canyon Ridge Collection doors will be available this summer in three overlay species: Pecky Cypress, Clear Cypress and Mahogany. Both a polystyrene and polyurethane insulation option will be offered with Rvalues ranging up to 19. The surface can be stained or painted. Optional decorative hardware is available to enhance the character of the doors.

2008: FATEZZI BAMBOOGARAGE DOOR ROCKS THE IDA EXPO 2008

Las Vegas, Nevada – April 30, 2008: Visitors to the International Door Association Expo 2008 who were expecting to see the same products year in, year out were pleasantly surprised by Ackue's new faux wood product offerings including an industry first–faux bamboo garage door.
"We researched the garage door market and see a big opportunity in tapping into the green building and curb appeal architectural trends by offering something substantially different than current product offerings. An example is the Fatezzi faux bamboo door which is an "outside the box" design that is different than the traditional garage door product offerings," said George Acha, Managing Director of Ackue International.
Front-facing garage doors take up a large portion of what people see from the street and using plain vanilla garage doors can have a negative impact on a home's curb appeal. Although garage doors offered through the years have come a long way since the plain vanilla varieties, affordable products until now have not caught up with the gold standard of garage doors for curb appeal, which is real wood garage doors. The Fatezzi faux wood claddings are lightweight, yet strong and durable and avoid the maintenance problems inherent in real wood garage doors making them ideal in climates that wreak havoc on natural wood doors.
Carl Galloni, a 25 years veteran in the garage door business and owner of Galloni's Triad Door Services, Jamestown, NC said "it's good to see new innovative products for the door industry. It's very refreshing that Ackue is listening to the market. We definitely like wood but don't like the maintenance aspects of wood. Fatezzi claddings look and feel just like wood and finding your products at the IDA Expo makes my trip worthwhile."
